1. MySpace explained

LooKSmart Solutions provides the following service:

• match design to website
• produce a 'thanks for the add' graphic
• an hour approx. spent sending friend requests to get page started
• information will then be passed to client on how to take over the myspace page including log in and password plus any other help they need on maintaining their page

2. Message Boards/phpBB forums explained

LooKSmart Solutions provides the following service:

• installation
• set up categories and preferences
• install theme that best matches website or one that the client chooses
• design of message board banner

3. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
 

LooKSmart Solutions provides the following service:

• keyword research and implementation
• site description written to meet guidelines of search engines
• use of alt tags
• google sitemap creation and upload
• manual submissions to main search engines
• site tweaking once site link appears on search engines to try to raise site ranking

Although we make every effort to obtain a high ranking for our customers websites, we make no guarantees regarding the results.

4. Information on other services we offer

4.1 Copy Typing and Scanning
If the client has printed papers they require to be typed in order to be put on their website, LooKSmart Solutions can provide this service.  Documents can be sent via email or regular post. We are also able to scan documents/photos for the website at a fee. If the client requires documents/photos to be returned they must send a stamped addressed envelope.

These services are also available for non-website clients at the same fee.

4.2 Website Forms

Requires that your web hosting package includes a MySQL database.

LooKSmart Solutions uses www.phpforms.net php forms which currently charge US$29.95 for a single license to use their software. Once you have purchased a license you are obviously entitled to produce as many forms with the software as you wish. These forms can be used for something as basic as obtaining names and email addresses for mailing list use or more lengthy forms for gaining feedback on products/services or booking forms etc.

If phpforms will be required LooKSmart Solutions can purchase software and install it if the client provides payment for software beforehand.

Although LooKSmart Solutions has experience using this software, it is provided by a third party and therefore we are not responsible for any problems caused by the software as outlined in the terms and conditions.  We will however endeavour to fix any problems which may occur.

4.3 Tag Boards/Shout Boxes

Tag boards are a good tool to make your site interactive without your visitors having to register on a message board. You can find different providers of tag-boards, some charge a small yearly fee of around $20 or they provide them for free if you don't mind their advertising. e.g www.tag-board.biz

LooKSmart Solutions will install a tag-board on your site for a small fee.  Administration of the tag-board including watching for abusive posters, banning IP's etc. will be the clients responsibility. 

4.4 mp3 players and video players

LooKSmart Solutions Ltd uses and recommends Wimpy Player. Products available from $19.95.  See www.wimpyplayer.com

All mp3's and videos provided to LooKSmart Solutions for installation onto the players must be the property of the client or used with permission.

Although LooKSmart Solutions has experience using this software, it is provided by a third party and therefore we are not responsible for any problems caused by the software as outlined in the terms and conditions.  We will however endeavour to fix any problems which may occur.

5. Web Hosting and Domain Name registration

LooKSmart Solutions do not supply hosting or domain name registration, nor can we recommend particular companies. However, it's advisable to check with us before registering with a web host so we can make sure they offer everything you will require for your website.

Once registered with a web host (and domain name registrar if different), all details and passwords will need to be forwarded to LooKSmart Solutions in order for us to commence work on your website.

If you do require advice on choosing a web host, please contact us and we will do our best to help you choose the right one for you.

6. Website Maintenance

Once your website is completed, you may have the html and graphic files so you can update the site yourself, or you can send updates to LooKSmart Solutions.

We charge £20 per hour for adding your website additions.  The total maintenance cost will be calculated every quarter and an invoice will be sent at that time.  For any quarter where at least one update was requested, an invoice for a minimum of £20 will be sent.

If your website will require regular updates (i.e. weekly) a maintenance agreement can be drawn up at a lower hourly rate.

Message boards provided by www.phpbb.com require updating when a new version is released.  All new version updates are recommended for site security reasons.  LooKSmart Solutions will notify you when a new version has been released and confirm that you would like this update carried out.  These updates again will be charged at an hourly rate of £20.

7. Do you do flash websites?

No, we are currently not able to offer flash website services.  Also. from a recent survey we carried out, we found most people don't actually like flash elements on websites and find that they can be annoying.  It's also difficult to get a flash website optimised correctly for search engines to pick them up successfully.

If however you have a banner, site intro or a small element made using flash and would like that incorporated onto a regular html website, we are able to do that for you.
